Let’s say for example that you have ordered a 16 foot wide by 4 foot high banner. You would provide your artwork to the size of your order (16′x12″ = 192 inches) wide x (4′x12″= 48 inches) tall x 100 dots per inch). Ideally it’s best if we receive a rasterized & flattened file saved as a high quality (95%+) .JPG file. RGB mode artwork is fine, but please at least be aware what your artwork looks like in CMYK . For some larger banners, artwork as low as 75 or 50 DPI also works very well.

Ultimately, we are likely to be able to work with whatever file you have. For any images that are not pre-rasterized when you send them, we will most likely send a proof to verify that no font substitutions or other issues arose from the vector artwork. Rasterized high quality JPG files at 100 dpi seem to very reliably work best.

How to Send Your Artwork:

Simply click ‘reply’, and attach your image to your automatic order confirmation email. If your order confirmation email does not arrive immediately, please check your junk email folder for it. Since the email is automatically sent to you, it should arrive very quickly. Please let us know if you don’t receive your automatic order confirmation email after ordering. You can also reply to any other email we have sent you in the past and attach your artwork. Please be sure to reference the related order number in the subject line.

The customer service email address can receive attached files up to 20 MB. You can send over multiple files in separate emails if necessary. For even larger files we have found that www.yousendit.com has a great free large file transfer feature. Please always reference your order number along with your artwork.

(from a recent email to a customer)

Dear Customer,

The image you attached will work well. The size of your order was 16 feet wide by 4 feet high. However, once the image is printed the physical banner can be hung in any orientation.

Based on your artwork, we have determined that you probably intend your banner to be hung in a landscape (16′ wide x 4′ high) orientation. The only reason this makes a difference is that we add metal hanging rings (grommets) every two feet along the top and bottom edges. So in your case, the grommets will be added along what are also the top and bottom of your image.

Based on your artwork, we have also guessed that you would probably like the black to go all the way to the edges of the banner (full bleed). We use our best judgment for image orientation, bleed options, and other similar details each order to best match what our customer’s intent when ordering. You can always specify any special instructions you need during the order or afterward by email (please always specify the relevant order # in the subject line).

Does that help you out with your question? With the great artwork you provided, your banner is going to turn out very well.

You’ll receive another email from us containing a tracking number once your banners are on their way to you.

Best Regards,

Mike, Banner Customer Service
